Venue

The meeting will take place in the Maths and Physics building of the University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay Campus. We start on Thursday Nov 19 at 8:30 in Room 232 with registration and early morning tea.

Meeting room: Physics Lecture Theatre 3, Level 3.

Directions

From the airport: Taxi pick up at airport deliver to University of Tasmania, Bld 13, Level 2, Clarke Road, Sandy Bay. Tasmania 7005. Costs approx. 60 AUD. Airport Shuttle (18 AUD) stop University of Tasmania. Departs from the airport after every arrival.

Location

The conference will be held at the University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus. Sandy Bay is an approximately 5 minute drive from the center of the city of Hobart. Travel down Sandy Bay Road, turn right into the University, we are at the 4th building on the right hand side (see map above)

Delegates are required to book their own accommodation. We strongly recommend that you book accommodation early.

CLYDESDALE MANOR
5 minute walk to conference centre. 4.5 star restored gregorinan manor house. Prices around $159-$300 AUD per night.

IMPERIAL HOTEL
This hotel is a 20 minute walk to the conference venue, or a short 5 minute taxi ride. Back packer style accomodation, with shared dorms or single rooms. Single rooms start from $66 AUD per person.

Salamanca Market

Salamanca market runs every Saturday from around 8:30am until around 3pm. It is set in the historial Salamanca precinct right next to the Hobart waterfront. It features more than 300 stalls of local craftwork, music, food and art. It's the perfect place for souvenirs and a fantastic breakfast.


kunanyi (Mount Wellington)
Mount Wellington, or kunanyi (local Aboriginal name), is an unmissable part of the Hobart skyline. The summit is accessible by car. Click here for more information.
