Scope

The biennial meeting of the AAvHF (in association with the NZAvHF) will take place in Hobart, in November 2015, from Fri 20th to Sun 22nd inclusive. It offers an important opportunity for current and former Alexander von Humboldt Fellows, across both the Humanities and Sciences, to meet, to present and exchange ideas, to mentor younger colleagues, and to learn more about the current and future activities of the Foundation and Australia-German research opportunities.

The venue is at the University of Tasmania Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies building (IMAS, 20 Castray Esplanade Battery Point Tas 7004), located on the Hobart waterfront in the centre of town.

The conference programme runs from 5pm Friday (bus to reception) to 2pm Sunday (close of lunch/AGM). We hope that participants will arrange their travel to opt for the Sunday afternoon social programme - a tour to the MONA museum, by ferry from town (return to town by approx 5.30pm). We will provide more details on the opening morning.

For further information contact the conference chair, Dr Peter Jarvis (Humboldt.2015@utas.edu.au)

During the day on Friday 20th there will be an associated pre-meeting for early career researchers under the RAMP programme, sponsored by the DAAD (contact daad.australia@gmail.com or http://www.ic.daad.de/sydney/ or http://ramp-australia.info/ for details). ECR participants supported to attend the RAMP meeting are encouraged to stay on for the AAvHF meeting.
